First day of school

Holidays over and yer school here I come. My body said no! I don't want to go to school but. . when you are first there it is not too bad but actually quite nice to see everybody again (:

I wrote myself a list yesterday evening:
Ipod
Wallet
Lunch
Bus pass application
Pool Carnival
Be nice (Be patient, talk nicely to teachers and explain your situation)

Well I succeeded alright I reckon. Remembered most of it the last dot point as well. I might get to read an easier Frankenstein in english or move class! Just because of me little note which reminded me. Finally I got to talk to my english teacher, sweet.
People at school were pretty much the same! Nice tho to catch up, after holidays there is always so much more to talk about, and I like talking so (:

In the start of the day Erica came over with 2 yr 11 girls, they both shaked my hand: Hi Im Amanda and Im Frances. . .Uhm why's yr 11 girls doing that? I was a bit confused for a moment or two untill I realised they were my newbies! Exchange students from Sweden and Austria! yaaay they are with EF and staying for a year, the other one ½ a year, pretty awesome.

Anyhow It was stinking hot the whole day and my best friend in drama was the FAN<3 It is impossible to concentrate in 40 or above -degrees! After school I catched my new bus home and yer I did catch the right one! Had to walk a bit in the terrible heat, I thought I should die! I mean why does the school skirts have to be made out of the thickest fabric on earth? Just saying.

Anyhow besides that It was great to be back with the whole gang ;) Let's save the world, -shall we?

Jelly Bean

30-01-11

So after sitting a whole day watching 'dance academi' with lucy and hannah, Andi texted me! You wanna come for a swim with me and Josh?
Sure thing! I was in!

We tried to find a place with a weird name in glenbrook nationalpark but failed, where we afterwards decided to go to jellybean. Instead of going to the exact place we went for an adventure. Swimming in a narrow part of the creek/river with no people around us! The water a bit grumsy but fine enough. There was heaps of rocks and suddenly it would just turn deep so you couldnt reach the ground and then suddenly again you would swim into a rock, funny as.

We came to a stop on a rock. Josh was like: 'uhm girls don't look under this rock, just keep swimming okay?' -maybe start to swim back?' Of course Andrea looked under the rock, she couldnt find anything unusual so she thought he was joking .. but then .. AN MASSIVE EEL!!! ARGH I stood on the rock like screaming for 10min trying to find out how to get back without entering the water. Impossible, I would meet snakes then. . so Josh in front, Andrea in the back protecting me from the EEL (EELS??) uhm couldnt reach the ground, couldnt breath but wanted to swim faster than never before !

When we came onto solid ground again we all started laughing! So so funny and creepy at the same time -I thought I should die !

No more swimming with the eel! We went to the actual Jelly bean where other people were swimming as well. Jelly Bean is a place in glenbrook national park, its like a creek or something. A massive rock/cliff placed in the middle that everybody were jumping from. . including Josh. . so Andrea wanted me to do it as well (like 5m down) argghh.. well I got up on the cliff, looked down and then stood screaming for like 10 minutes. Another guy in his early 20's was scared as too and I though NO! He's not gonna jump before me, that would be embarrasing! so in the end I jumped. . . hit the water BOOOM! and air (:

The guy jumped eventually but he was like shaking and crap! More scared than I was apparently :o
So our adventure was quite eventful this time! and memorable!

Sunburn under the clouds

It was a bit cool this morning, the weather a bit sad and windy but deals are deals. Sara (Swiss girl) and I had planned to go to the beach, Bondi beach for a change. We arranged to meet at central but before that a long hour train trip was in front of the both of us.
'New text recieved from Sara' -Im bored Julie atm Im ready the train timetables arghh...
Well must admit that It went a bit slow especially when ur by urself in the train, without any company.
But after 6 minutes of delay I finally got to Central and found sara! We catched a train to Bondi Junction and then a bus to the beach while we were talking like never before. The weather didnt seem to improve so instead of laying at the actual beach, we found a grass spot instead. There was very few people on the beach but quite a lot of them were swimming so we had to do the same. We moved our stuff down on the beach and entered the water. The waves were MASSIVE! and the water HOT as, it was perfect and great fun. In between our swims we put like heaps of sunscreen on, even tho the sun wasn't really shining. The water ws so nice that we stayed in most of the time, but in the afternoon the sun came and we just laid on the beach talking.
After our beach trip we ate a pizza and then almost missed our bus to central. at Circular quay the bus stopped and we were like: eh?? So had to catch a train from there and then find the train back home!

It was a really good and funny day! I love being with my Swiss girl! She's awesome (:
Annie picked me up in Springwood and we had left overs for dinner. Brians boys where here for a boys night outside so me, Lucy and Annie went to Wendy's house. -Which caused a few laughs about 'Hakkebøffer, Minxed Beef?' etc.

Andrea came over today so we spent the day together (:
Around 16.30 Lucy, Andrea, Her brother Mike and I went to Yarramundi river for a swim.
It was great cause the weather was insanely hot! The water wasn't very deep and it was full of small rocks, the current was strong and there was heaps of seaweet!
But fun it was!

Australia Day

Biip Biip Biiiip!!! 5.30am -the alarm went off, great. . .
My first night in my new bed, not too bad really, quite smaller from my previous bed but charming indeed. A little Purple, pink, flowerish patchwork planket that makes you feel like a princess (: I could get used to this.

I've already packed all my stuff out and settled, after Bronwyn and little miss Tayla droped me off yesterday morning. I spent rest of the day -of course unpacking and watching movies with Lucy. Anne's patchwork/Quilt group came over after dinner and sat for some hours. It's amazing what they actually can do. My new home is covered with the most beautiful blankets, pillows etc Anne made -she's gonna teach me the art of patchwork eventually! But anyhow, had a little chat to some of the ladies, it actually ended up being quite late.

But anyhow here I am and it's Australia day! Which is? ? :O
well we don't excatly have Denmark day at home, but I was about to find out what the whole idea was about. My new parents, Lucy and I drove to the Wollongong area, heading for the beach, leaving at 7am we didnt expect it to be packed already, but clearly other people had the same plan as us!
Crowds of people all along the coast with tents, BBQ's, music, blankets, Australia Bikinis, Australia hats, Australia tattoos, Australia everything. No doubt about why it's called Australia day!

Normally celebrated as a relaxing day. People get work of and spend the day with family and friends, apparently there's concerts in the city as well and yer heaps of stuff to do! :)

They had promised like 42-45 degrees but surprisingly the weather was rather misty, not cold around 25-30 but a bit creepy kind of weather. Lucy and I quickly found our way into the nice cool water and pretty much spend the rest of the day jumping over the massive waves that came our way! In the end it cleared up and when we reached the mountains on our way home the temperature reached 37 degrees! Kinda happy we didnt stay in the mountain area, I would have melted then!

Too much

All my stuff packed again, way too much! Too much exercise to carry it all down to the car puhaa ;)

Coolman

So ironic enough I totally forgot a day this week, so my mind thought that It would be today I was supposed to move family. But nah That is tomorrow (tuesday) instead, which means that I already packed all my stuff! I was laughing so much last night when I found out, after spending the whole day packing all my crap I've collected during 6 months. Therefore I decided to pay Andrew aka Coolman a little visit (:

Started out with a swim in his pool, talking, eating burgers, and going to the park with his dog -all very relaxing a pleasant!

Our weird moments :D

Getting Lost in the city

21-01-11

Off the the city! With no plan really than enjoying ourselves (:
first we went to the Center Point Tower that I got free tickets for. A photo got taken of us and then we got squeezed into a very weird and not very big lift that took us up in the tower! It took ages and was a bit of a worry (Katrina thought haha) anyhow up there was the most amazing view.

We took several photos from different angles, looked at people who were running down on the street like small ants. It was beautiful and we actually spent quite a while up there. When we came down we decided to buy the package with our photos just as a good memory of the  2 of us in Sydney<3

Down from the tower, into the street. Sydney never sleeps. We went to this park with music and heaps of people. A chess game was going on and there was a massive crowd watching this intense game.

Instead we decided to sit down next to a musician enjoying our ice juice, brought from home.

Which is a serious matter :')

A photo near a waterfall how wonderful ! How peaceful! How Splendid!

And then we left the park. We went to Circular Quay, watched a woman doing weird positions with her body, A man jumping down from a table and balancing traps and stuff on his face. -very dangerous ;) But then we decided -lets go to Darling Habour. I thought I knew my way around so after walking under Habour Bridge I thought we were at the right habour but no! Katrina and Julie got lost in the city - this is our posing when we're lost!

We asked some people and got told: Down this road 2km and you will get there. So we started walking. After 2Km we asked some other people and got told: Continue down this road 2km and you ll get there. Haha Katrina just said, last time we got told 2km and now its 2km again, does it ever stop? But we kept walking. At one point I said: Katrina Im so so so Hungry, at the same time we looked up at the street sign. . AND NO ITS NOT FUNNY -.-
´

Eventually we got to darling Habour, we went into the Wildlife park and got something to eat as well. Btw LEGO has  invated australia and was found everywhere in the Zoo! What a great danish adventure.
This was also the day where I threw out my thongs that kept breaking the whole day. When we came by a surfer shop Katrina dragged me in there and made me buy some new ones -im pretty happy about my purchase (:

That evening Kat's neighbours came over again and I finally got to meet Kat's dad for real. We were both very tired because of all the walking but it was an amazing and very funny day!

My Autralian Sister Katrina

20-02-11

Finally I got to see Katrina again. Just to make sure that everybody knows who she is: Katrina is the Australian girl I hosted back in Denmark from January to March 2010. -My australian sister!
It is hard to imagine how fast a year goes by, and that she is already back in australia after her excchange year, she came home the 15th January and I went to visit her and her family not even a week after her return.

Thursday morning I catched a train from Blaxland to Central and from Central to Sutherland, a trip between 2-3hrs in train. At my arrival I saw my beautiful sis coming down the stairs at the station to recieve me. I ran over to her, hugged her and just said: This is so exciting!!! Cause I was truely excited my absolutely wordless, it was just amazing to actually see and hold somebody from HOME
We went to the carpark where her mum and 3 of her 4 sisters were waiting in the car. (Pam -her mum, AnneMarie -3rd oldest sister, Mikayla -2nd youngest, Gorgia -youngest)

From there we drove to their local shopping center, had a milkshake, talked and collected 2 massive packages from Denmark with some of the clothes that wasnt space for when she left.
I got settled down with my stuff and then we drove to Cronulla beach. Katrina and I seperated from the group so we could catch up, just walking around, talking, looking at shops and bumping into one of her friends all the time -which was quite funny cause first time she didnt realise that Kat actually was home from Denmark, the poor girl got so excited!

In the evening I met her neighbours and later another neighbour came over -one of Pam's very good friends. We went to bed early though exhausted as, but a really nice day and funny to see how my sis's family actually is! Loving (:

Of course Katrina Imported heaps of our fav. chocolate! DAIM! yummy yummy in my tummy <3
